I bought this after reading several reviews because I am a tall guy (6'9") and wanted a backpack that would fit as well as possible. This is a comfortable, well made backpack and my son (around 28 lbs, 21 months) loves to ride in it. It made our trip to visit my mom a lot easier in the airport, as a stroller can be unwieldy and this made it easy to navigate through crowds and get to our gate on time.
It seems really well made, and it's actually pretty comfortable for longer periods of time, even with an almost 30 lbs child back there! It's nice that it has a bunch of compartments for the stuff that you inevitably need to take with you while traveling with kids. Eventually, we're going to get out for a hike (in nature, not the airport!!) and I think it'll work fine.

I purchased the Kelty carrier for a trip to the mountains. My baby loved it. She was happy all the time she was in my back and she even felt asleep during our trips. The carrier itself felt very comfy, just like a regular 11 kg backpack. Off course I felt tired after a couple hours walking but that's part of the fun. I recommend to purchase a shade with it as little kids sometimes don't like hats very much.
